Kaohsiung, Taiwan
Kaohsiung, located on the southwest coast of Taiwan, is home to 1.5 million people. It is a major center for manufacturing, refining, and transportation. It's harbor is one of the four largest in the world. Founded near the end of the Ming Dynasty, Kaohsiung is a progressive, modern city with several universities and colleges. It's landmarks include the Love River and the coral mountains Shoushan and Panpinshan.
Eva Johnson, Kaohsiung Sister City Chair displays the banner for the World Games to Warren Hill, CSSCI President. The World Games were held in July 2009 at Kaohsiung, Taiwan. Eva returned from Taiwan with the banner after a visit with city officials earlier in 2009.
